Types of Makeup Brushes

Foundation – the face brush is available in several different types to match the preferred finish. For instance, the buffing brush is the right option to create the airbrushed finish, while the flat brush is more effective at giving full coverage. Also, the flat brush with its angled design is useful for precision work when looking to add concealer to specific facial areas.

Powder – a fluffy or soft brush is a useful tool to help concealer or foundation last throughout the day. This type of brush is great for applying a light application of powder that won’t look cakey or fake. A large brush is the preferred option to minimize shine over the T-zone, while a small brush is more suited to small or sensitive areas, such as under the eyes.

Blusher – the most effective brushes to apply blush are typically medium in size with lightweight, dense bristles and a slightly rounded tip. The best brushes are great at picking up the right volume of blush that can easily be distributed over the cheeks.

Cream blusher – a rounded, firm brush is a great tool to apply cream blusher. It is best applied using a sweeping motion. Also, an angled or flat brushed can be used as a next step to really help the cream blend with your skin. With the right technique, this is a great way to create the natural looking rosy cheeks.

Bronzer – one of the most effective options to apply bronzer is with a large-headed brush. This can help to create a very smooth application for the all-over glow, a contoured definition, or to enhance a natural tan.

Handbag Or Toolbag

Thirty years on, the style and shape of her handbag may have changed, but I guarantee you would still be able to change a spare tyre or prevent nuclear war by poking through the contents of my mother’s handbag.

Alas, it seems to be a trait that has passed from mother to daughter, because I’m the one amongst all my gal pals who can always be counted on to produce a Bandaid for a cut finger, or the perfect lip gloss for a touch up. Oh, and I’m always the one with the spare tissues and tampons.

I would like to ask Dr Freud about my peculiar predilection for carrying the entire contents of my bedroom (and kitchen, and bathroom) in my handbag, but he would probably relate it to some female sexual inadequacy problem. (Penis envy sounds like a good one!)

What never ceases to amaze me is what on earth can the celebs who walk down the red carpet at those gala events possibly fit into an evening bag the size of a matchbox? Heck, they look like they haven’t got room for a match let alone a matchbox.

I always imagine their mother, or assistant, or hanger-on person, inconspicuously lugging their oversized Louis Vuitton traveling case through the rear tradesman’s entrance. After all, what celeb would leave home without a complete makeover kit, change of underwear, spare toothbrush (or teeth!) and an extra bottle of Mo√ęt in case of an emergency?

Most men who tell you women are mysterious creatures have never witnessed the full monty, so to speak, of a woman’s handbag. I don’t know if they would have the physical or mental strength to deal with it.

About Stockings

Nylon stockings were scarce during WWII because all available nylon was needed in the war effort. A lot of nylon was used in making parachutes. Production of nylon stockings started up again at the end of WWII.

A new trend in stockings was started in the 1960s with the introduction of pantyhose. Until the introduction of pantyhose, stockings had to be worn with garter belts or girdles. The stockings were held up with clasps attached to the girdle or garter belt. Today, pantyhose are available in a multitude of styles. These stockings come in sheer, ultra sheer, nude, sandal toe, and reinforced toe. Some pantyhose come with built in body shaping and control tops to trim and smooth the tummy, rear, and hips. Women can even buy an anti-cellulite pantyhose. These stockings promise to reduce cellulite appearance by using micro beads imbedded into the fabric. Results are visible after four weeks. The beads remain effective for five washings. The stockings firm and tone legs for a sleeker look.

Nylon stockings come in a wide variety of colors and are also available as anklets, knee highs and thigh highs. Support hose are even available for those women who need some relief from the pain of vericose veins. These stockings are designed to relieve pain caused by varicose veins by relieving the pressure of the stocking against the leg. No part of the leg gets too much or too little pressure.

Many women enjoy sexy thigh high stockings. Some stockings need a garter belt to stay in place, while others use a knit in elastic or grip to help them stay snug against the thigh. Women can choose to wear fishnet thigh high stockings or ones with lace tops, or even ones with back seams running down the back of the leg.
